Today was the last day prior to racing, so we needed to get the boat back in the water. Andrew and I went over to the club at about 1pm. They had two huge mobile cranes set up and in no time we were in the water and heading towards our assigned spot.
It's an interesting set-up, where the club has sunk a mooring anchor for every two boats. You are basically supposed to grab one of the two mooring lines and then back in to the dock. We are happy with our spot (right in front of the bar!), but not happy with today's docking process.
As we were lining up the boat and working our way into our spot, the guy on the boat next to us decided to "help" by giving the bow a shove with both feet!! Well...I was standing on the bow at the time and guess what happens to someone standing on the bow of an etchells when someone decides to shove it 2 feet sideways!!! Right....I went swimming....with my phone in my pocket.
No more phone....I am NOT happy!!

Hi Jim Deb and crew!
Great pictures and updates. Sorry about the phone! Just got back from sailing twin Brigantines to Catalina. Would you believe there were over 400 lines? We even had a race back to Long Beach. Lots of F.U.N. but a far cry from Etchells speed. Best of luck!

Hi Crew! Good Luck guys! And what a great race Nina and I had --You should try racing brigantines next. Thirteen sails each and all flying! with 4 lines for each, Yikes! Nina was pulling her weight and had the wheel by herself on the way in with the captain forward. All by herself and not a wobble. I was so proud of her. You guys do good too. Press on, mom
Jim~
I thought you were the bow guy. :)
Good luck in the races. Keep the postings coming. You do not need a phone on vacation anyway.
Thought you were the bow guy. AHHHH what the hey you don't need a phone on vacation anyway. It is only a way for Andrew to get ahold of you to get in trouble.

Jim,
As you know I also have a TREO phone. I take my phone fishing and sailing on oceans and rivers and have never had this problem. I have five words for you:
GLAD ZIP LOCK SANDWICH BAGS.
