Random Day Before Worlds

Today was an off-day for the sailors so we all took off in different directions. JC /Susu went to Rottnest Island, Jim/Deb toured Fremantle and Andrew/Liz worked on the boat and then to a Christening.

JC in his efforts to make Friday's weigh-in went on a 10 mile walkabout around the island. The island is the only place in the world that has Quokkas (a marsupial that is a cross between a miniture kangaroo, a NYC rat, and a squirrel). They are friendly and unshy. They came right up to us and begged for food... just like Kevlar! The beaches were some of the most beautiful beaches that we have seen. We are looking forward to diving tomorrow in the waters off the island.

With the exception of the weigh-in, 1283 is ready to start the World's practice race on Friday!

Nice tactic of sandbagging in the midfleet during the SLAM. Now that you all have not drank any beer for a week(yeah right) and lost the weight(hopefully) go and have a great regatta. Keep the pix coming! GOOD LUCK!! FT
